I never knew I needed a Kindle until I received one!

I am not usually one to write a review but people keep asking me what I think about my Kindle. I have a First Generation and I have had it for almost 18 months. I wouldn't trade my Kindle for anything! I absolutely love it! When I received it, I had to ask what it was and I was a little skeptical. Set up was almost nothing since everything was already loaded. I now carry my Kindle everywhere I go. I read it curled up in a chair, while working out on the elliptical or treadmill, on the airplane, even while waiting for my oil change. I love that I can finish one book and immediately purchase another book without going anywhere. I don't have to worry about where I am going to store the book when I am finished or selling them. Others seem a little concerned about the price and I admit, it was hard to justify spending so much on books. However, when I think about getting in the car, fighting traffic, spending time at the bookstore, buying a book, driving home I'm pretty sure that is worth the $5-10 I spend on a download. I spend more time reading now and hardly ever watch TV. I have used the email PDF feature and received a file that turned out okay. I haven't tried to borrow ebooks from the library that are available in PDF format.
I have the leather cover for the Kindle too and I use it exclusively for storage. I take the unit out anytime I am reading as it is easier to use. I average a charge about 2 times a month but I don't use the Whispernet very often so that is usually turned off which conserves battery life. The only complaint I have is that in certain light it is harder to read because of glare. That doesn't bother me enough to stop using it and it is usually on in the gym.
I can't recommend the Kindle enough to my friends, co-workers and even people I don't know who see me reading it. I wouldn't trade it for anything and if it ever breaks, I wouldn't think twice about buying another one.
